Live While We're Young, in Philly

I put this slideshow together because I love Philly and I love New York, and I love PRSSA, and I love One Direction. Sooo, here you go.

Remember, all you need is love...and maybe a little One Direction.

Let The Battle Begin

Four years ago, I started what has become one of UVU's biggest and most popular events.
This event is a battle where dance crews compete for the title of UVU's Best Dance Crew.
This year we held auditions a month before the event and had six crews try out.
We accepted the top five crews to move on to battle for the trophy.
This year, UVUBDC was one of our Homecoming kickoff events and had over 1,200 in attendance. People came from all over the state to watch these amazing dancers. This year's show was by far the best we've had yet. The lighting, emcees, crowd, judges, everything was perfect. This year's winning crew was Swagger Rangers. This crew actually formed from the very first UVUBDC winner, a two man crew with the same crew name. They joined back together and added three more to their crew. Each member of the crew represented the different power rangers. The swagger rangers were phenomenal and received a standing ovation. The judges had nothing to critique, it was basically flawless. They received a $500 check and the opportunity to compete at Utah's Best Dance Crew.
I am excited to see who comes out to compete for Utah's Best Dance Crew. It's going to be the best event Utah has ever seen.
Through my dance involvement at UVU and having started this amazing tradition, I have grown a great passion for dance, especially hip hop. I love taking classes and watching my improvement. You have to always remember to do more of what you love, because all you need is love.

Never Lose Sight Of Your | V I S I O N |

What is your vision? This is one question that I like to frequently ask myself. This question reminds me to keep in mind my goals, aspirations, and obviously... my vision. This last week has certainly solidified my vision. I look forward to my future, experience, internships, jobs, and life. I hope to live in New York and work for a PR firm, planning events or working with Fashion PR. I love planning events and I love fashion, so anything related to either of those would be a dream come true.
My vision entails so much more, but as far as my future PR life is concerned, that is my vision.

Do More Of What You...

LOVE.
I can't think of a better phrase to capture what I have experienced in the past week. I have learned so much this week through networking, making new friends, training, culture, traveling, and not to mention winning! It's crazy to think how much I thought I loved PR before I came on this trip, and how much I love it now after attending National Conference. I have a new found passion and love for PR, which I will take with me wherever I go, forever. I am so proud to be a part of the amazing UVU PRSSA chapter and work with such incredible student leaders. Since I've returned to UVU, I have convinced one of my friends to change their major to PR, just by telling her about our trip! If there is one thing I learned from this trip, it is that I LOVE PR! And you know it, all you need is love.

Adventure to the Concrete Jungle

After a two hour train ride through beautiful Philly and Jersey, we made it to my favorite place in America, New York City! I was fortunate enough to spend a little over a week in New York over the summer and absolutely fell madly in love. Ever since before high school I had always dreamed of going to New York, probably because I'm so obsessed with FRIENDS, which is based out of NYC. I feel the greatest adrenaline, drive, and motivation every time I step onto the streets of New York. The fashion in New York just feeds my passion for fashion. One of my dreams is to work on 5th Avenue and do Fashion PR or Fashion Design. I love New York, I love fashion, I love PR, and all you need is love.

And The Winner Goes To...

UTAH VALLEY UNIVERSITY!
Tonight we proudly took home the National Outstanding Chapter Award! At the Closing Banquet for the conference, they gave out various awards to different schools. The most important and prestigious award that is given out is saved for the very end. With much anticipation, we patiently waited as they were reading the background on the winning chapter. They said that this chapter's Adviser won Adviser of  the Year the previous year, which was our adviser, Stephen Whyte. Once they said that, our chapter went wild!
I can not explain how excited, proud, grateful, honored, happy [every good feeling!] I am to be part of the UVU PRSSA Chapter. I always knew that UVU had a wonderful PR program, but now, we have the best PRSSA Chapter in the Nation! After going up to accept our award, we suddenly became celebrities. Countless people came up to congratulate us and to shake our hand. This was one of the most incredible nights of my life. I am just that much more motivated to become the PR pro that I want to be! I love UVU PRSSA, and all you need is love.

Today we were able to get a wonderful whiff of the rich Philadelphia history. Our first stop was the Liberty Bell, which has been moved into a historic museum where they have a self guided tour explaining the history and background of the Liberty Bell. The original crack and everything is still on the Bell. I love history and learning about the foundation of our country. It was such a solemn experience being able to see first hand where the Liberty Bell came from.

After learning all about the Liberty Bell, we ventured across the street to Independence Hall. Here, we took a tour and were educated about the founding fathers of our country. We were even able to enter the same room where they signed the Constitution. Most everything in the room is a replica of what was once in there. The only original piece of furniture is the chair behind the desk, in the left hand side of the picture. That is where George Washington sat. What a humbling experience it was touring this incredibly historic and monumental building. Touring down town Philly and being able to learn so much about our Country's history made me love America even more than I already did, and all you need is love.
